I Surrender!

I surrender. I hold up my hands. I give up. I can’t do this anymore.

These are words I don’t say lightly. I don’t give up too easily and I hate losing. But when it comes to living my life how I am supposed to, I have to give up.

Why?

I can’t do this all on my own. I can’t play this game of life the way that I want to and I’m struggling to win this race.

We Were Intentionally Made

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 139:13-16

Our God is an intentional God. When He does things, it’s not by accident.  He intends to do them. This also applies to ourselves. I was not made by accident. I was not some random passing thought. God intentionally created me. He intentionally created you too.

I know what you might be thinking (coz I think this too sometimes)…

Hang on a minute. Me? He intended to create me? God created me on purpose?

Yes! You are not by accident.

I find this hard to grasp at times depending on what I am feeling and what situations I go through. On a good day I’ll accept He fearfully and wonderfully made me just the way I am. He will use me just as He intended to further the works for His Kingdom.

Simplifying Is Simple!

I’m joining the Five Minute Friday word prompt for this week and today’s prompt is the word “simplify”. This should be fun, because my life is anything but simple!

It’s at this point in the year where we start to struggle with the New Years resolutions that we have made, especially if we have made unrealistic ones. I decided not to do one this year, and I’m so pleased that I didn’t. I get too bogged down with feelings of guilt when I realise I can’t carry on with resolutions I have made.

Five Minute Friday – Excuse

I like a good challenge. Something I can get my teeth into. But sometimes I come across situations where I feel I’m not good enough to do the task at hand. I start to make excuses as to why I am not the right person…

…Surely there is someone else far better than me that can do the job…

…What if I fail and get it wrong…

…Am I good enough…

…what will other people think of what I do…

Do these sound familiar to you? Are you nodding with me right now and relating to these excuses?

Even Moses used excuses when he felt he could not deliver the people to the promised land:

But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11

But guess what folks? Moses did it! Ok, so it took some time, but he did it. All Moses did was ask God for His help and God provided for him the means and ways to do it.

If God calls you to do something and you don’t feel big enough to do it, instead of making excuses as to why you can’t, ask God to provide you with the means and ways to do it.

God calls you because He wants YOU! Not anyone else. He calls you because He knows you can do it.

If God calls you to do something and you don't feel big enough to do it...ask God to provide. Share on X

This Is My Story…in 5 Minutes

I was brought up in a Christian family with Christian values. However, when I experienced something in my life that was not so Christian it left me feeling confused to say the least. I wondered for many years why God would inflict such pain and suffering on a child. The suffering didn’t end either when it was over…it continued for years after when I tried to wrestle with what happened.

There are many people in this world that have experienced some form of brokenness in their lives..

neglect
abuse
death of a loved one
bullying
divorce

…the list is endless. Being broken doesn’t mean to say that you cannot be used though.

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.

Philippians 1:12

With God by my side, it has been possible to piece together the broken fragments in my life and create something that is of worth.

Me.

We may be broken, but we are not beyond repair. We will be used again for something good. It may not be how we thought it would be. In fact, it will be for something better…to advance the gospel.

We may be broken, but we are not beyond repair. Share on X
