Words can pierce the heart. It only takes one person to say one thing and you have an open wound of worthlessness. It doesn’t matter how many compliments have gone before, words can slice you open and leave you bleeding out. 

When someone has a different idea of who we are as a person, it can leave us feeling rejected. To often, we rely on what others think of ourselves. Their perception of us is more important than what we really are. 

There is another truth out there we really need to grasp hold of…

We may never realise or understand the extent of how much God loves us. I know I find it hard to keep this truth in my heart.

All. The. Time. 

As we go through this Lenten season, lets keep hold of this truth as tight as we can: God sent His one and only Son to die for us.

Why? 

Because He loves us. More than we will ever know!

On the days when you feel someone slicing you open with their words, let this truth be the suture that holds it all together.
