I surrender. I hold up my hands. I give up. I can’t do this anymore.
These are words I don’t say lightly. I don’t give up too easily and I hate losing. But when it comes to living my life how I am supposed to, I have to give up.
Why?
I can’t do this all on my own. I can’t play this game of life the way that I want to and I’m struggling to win this race.
So why does surrendering help me to win?
Surrender yourself to the Lord, and wait patiently for him.
Psalm 37:7
Surrendering to the will of God means that I have everything to gain.
Surrendering to the will of God means that I have everything to gain. Share on XSurrendering to the will of God is not giving up, and it certainly isn’t losing either – let’s be sure of that! When I surrender to God, I am putting my needs below everything else. I become less selfish and think more of others around me.
Surrendering to God also means that I start to trust Him more, which is something that doesn’t come easily to me. And when I trust Him more and something doesn’t go the way I thought it would do, I learn how to deal with criticism and rejection better. After all, if it was meant to be in God’s plan (and His plan at the end of the day is far better than mine), then it would have happened.
These are just a few rambling thoughts that I have put together in 5 minutes. I’m sharing, along with other people, what it means when I hear the word ‘surrender’. If you would like hear other people’s thoughts, then pop on over to the Five Minute Friday Community and have a read.
I like these “rambling thoughts” on surrender! Thanks for sharing as they have touched me today. Your FMF neighbor #38
Thank you for popping by and for your encouraging words. Have a blessed weekend.
Surrender to God is not easy but it’s so true that his plan is always better than ours. There is freedom in letting go!
Oh, once we learn to let go, yes there is freedom! Bless you for stopping by.
