I Am Resilient
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
I love this Bible verse. When I read it I can’t help but say “hell yeah” at the end with my fist punching the air. This is how I see my life. I have been through so much, and yet I am still here to tell the tale. I am resilient to say the least.
We will always experience hard times in our lives. Some more than others. I think more so too when we are striving to do God’s will. The trick is to keep connected with God throughout all of the situations that try to bring us down.
That is not to say we will never get hurt. Oh boy, will we get hurt! The world can be such a cruel place sometimes. However, if we focus on God, although we may get hurt, deep inside our souls are still connected with Him. This is what makes us resilient and helps us not to give up.
If we focus on God, although we may get hurt, deep inside our souls are still connected with Him. This is what makes us resilient and helps us not to give up. Share on XWe will always have God on our side. He loves us, that we can be sure about. We can always depend on Him because He is always there. If we stay linked with God, He will get us through any persecution we face, any embarrassment we feel, any pain we go through, any sadness which may occur…and so much more. Let us remember this with whatever we may face. We are resilient.
Something to think about…
Why not have a go at personalising 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 and re-write in your own words what you feel God is saying to you. You could also use my version and change to your own name.
Lynne, I see what you have been through in your life. The tormented you have been through but yet you are not defeated. I see how you lose your way sometimes but you do not give up the hope of living. I know you have been so mistreated. Lynne, I am here with you and will never leave you. I see how hurt you are sometimes, but you are not destroyed. You are so resilient.
If you enjoyed reading my thoughts on today’s Bible affirmation then why not catch up on my other thoughts for previous days.
I think that your readings have been very positive and a great deal of thought put into them, God said I will never leave you or forsake you. that’s a reassuring promise for us all.
Carry on with the rest of your readings.
