How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well. Psalm 139:14
I Am Amazing
My daughter, Isabella, is three and a half years old. She is the second born twin and our fifth (and final may I add) child. Isabella may only be a child, but what I see in her I very rarely see in adults.
Isabella seems to have this special connection with God which flows through her to other people around her. She lights up the room as soon as she walks in and has this insane ability to make you laugh and smile. Something I know I naturally find hard to do. But with Isabella, she can even make me laugh; to the point that I consider it pure joy.
Isabella seems to be able to sense when someone is not feeling their best. When I feel like I am at my lowest point or I feel worthless, she will come over to me, unprompted, and grab hold of me.
“Mummy?” she asks. And she will keep calling me until I answer. She wants my undivided attention. When I turn to her, she looks at me and says, “you’re amazing!” She gives me a big smile and skips off back to whatever she was doing.
Just in that moment, she tells me exactly what I needed to know.
Do you know what the worst thing is? Or, maybe it’s the best thing. You can’t argue with a 3 year old. Have you ever tried? I have. There is just no winning. Isabella just keeps repeating herself until I have to accept what she is saying.
I feel like God is using her in my life right now with everything that is going on around me. There have been moments where I feel He has abandoned me and I have been left with this feeling of helplessness. These are the moments, I feel, that God chooses to use what is going to get our attention the most. In my case, it is my daughter reminding me how amazing I truly am.
