Have you ever had anyone say to you, “my door is always open”? It may have been a colleague at work, or even your boss. You know the moment when you start a new job and a passing comment is said at the end.
“My door is always open.”
They may even be genuine about what they say. However, when it comes to it, some bosses are all talk and no action. They may not even open the door for you when you knock.
What about friends? Maybe, it has been a very good friend who has promised to be there for you. They’ve said they will support you in whatever you go though. Until, when it came to the crux, they too closed the door on you.
It hurts.
There is someone we can rely on who will always open their door.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
When it comes to the crux, God will open the door for us and let us in. God will listen to what we have to say. He won’t pretend He is interested either. He is actually interested. For real! And He won’t get offended when we tell Him exactly how we feel.
God is the type of boss you want who listens when you want to point out what is wrong. He doesn’t punish you in return. But better still, God is the friend you need when you really need someone to lean on.
You are reading day 11 of the Write 31 Days Challenge in conjunction with The Five Minute Friday Community. Today’s word prompt is ‘door’.
What a great take on this prompt. God as boss and friend. I like that.
Thank you for sharing.
