The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. Proverbs 21:5
Last Friday was the last day of our holiday and my heart felt a little heavy. The pace we had been living over the last month has been a slow one and it’s been satisfying to the soul to not be rushing around. The thought of going back to the hectic lifestyle we led sent my heart fluttering in a panic.
Maybe you feel the same too?
On that day though, I chose not to worry about rushing into the future. I planned to slow down. In return, I hoped my heart would be heavy with the abundance of beauty around me. Not only with the beauty of the landscape, but with the beauty I had in my family.
I was not disappointed with the plan of slowing down and not having to rush around.
~What can you plan into your day that would lead to abundance?
~Why not plan to slow down and take in what is around you?
“Abundance comes in many forms, do not limit your abundance by trying to control how it will flow, just know that it will come.” ~Shelly Sullivan
This was written for the Five Minute Friday Community, where a number of writers gather for a weekly writing challenge around a single word prompt and write to our hearts content, but only for five minutes (or there abouts).
This weeks word prompt is ‘rush’. Click here if you want to see what other people wrote. You can also have a go yourself. What do you think of when you hear the word ‘rush ’?
great advice for us all, but especially for yourself Lynne as you await the arrival of your two little girls! Take time out with Jesus and rest in His love, relax in His care and know that His presence will always be there.xx
Lovely advice Valerie. Thank you x
It’s so hard as a mama to slow down. We’re wired to go and get others motivated. Such good advice to allow our pace to slow, and enjoy what God has blessed us with.

It’s very hard Miccah. I’m learning that I have to slow down though or I’m going to miss a whole heap. Thank you for visiting.
I need to plan to keep my eyes wide open looking for things for which to be thankful. Thank you for this reminder. I hope you have a great day!
